SB Energy Files For US IPO Backed By Nvidia To Fuel AI Boom

SB Energy, an AI-focused power infrastructure developer backed by SoftBank, OpenAI, and Nvidia, has filed for an initial public offering with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company plans to list on the Nasdaq under the ticker "SBE" and aims to raise $5 billion to $7 billion, targeting a valuation exceeding $50 billion. The filing reveals substantial dependence on OpenAI as both a tenant and investor, with OpenAI mentioned 306 times in the prospectus. SB Energy reported a net loss of $3.2 billion on $139 million revenue for the first half of 2026. The company has no operational data centers but holds contracts for 8.8 gigawatts of capacity, with a $439 billion backlog. Nvidia has committed $3 billion and is providing up to $105 billion in credit support for the flagship Ohio project. The IPO could begin trading as early as September 2026.
