Bill Belichick and Tom Coughlin, opponents in two Super Bowls between the Patriots and Giants, will square off again as Pro Football Hall of Fame coaching semifinalists for the Class of 2026. They join Mike Holmgren, Chuck Knox, Buddy Parker, Dan Reeves, Marty Schottenheimer, George Seifert, and Mike Shanahan among nine candidates. Coughlin’s teams won both of those Super Bowls, while Belichick won six others during his Patriots tenure. Holmgren reached the finalist stage last year but missed election. The coach blue-ribbon committee meets November 18 to select this year’s finalist for consideration by the Hall’s selection committee.

Google and Epic Games have reached a settlement, pending Judge James Donato’s approval, that would reshape Android app distribution worldwide. The deal lowers Play Store fees to capped rates of 20 percent or 9 percent, with an extra 5 percent if Google billing is used, and commits support through June 2032. Android would add “Registered App Stores” installable with a single click, easing warnings and friction. Announced Nov. 4 by Google’s Sameer Samat and Epic’s Tim Sweeney, the plan could bring billing changes by late this year and store changes around June next year.

AMD may expand its Strix Halo lineup beyond the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, with PassMark listings flagged by VideoCardz hinting at Ryzen AI Max+ 388 and 392 chips, the plus indicating potential Radeon 8060S integrated graphics. The 388 reportedly offers eight cores and up to 5GHz boost, while the 392 could reach 12 cores. The 8060S lists 40 compute units. With budget GPUs like Nvidia’s RTX 5060 and AMD’s RX 9060 limited to 8GB VRAM, APUs look increasingly attractive. PassMark also points to a Zen 5 Ryzen 7 9700X3D amid leaks of higher-end X3D models.

Google has expanded its merch lineup, adding three items to the Google Store: a $36 12 inch Android Classic Plushie, the same one previously offered via Play Points and on the dedicated merch shop, plus a Search n Stack Game and an espresso cup set in signature red, yellow, green, and blue. The separate Google merch shop also lists a pint sized Android plushie and recent additions such as a Festive Frost Android figure, a Chrome Dino Eco Ornament, Chrome Dino Festive Frost apparel, many mugs, a Gemini lapel pin, and a Google Bike Canvas Duffel.

With a second betting scandal looming, UFC CEO Dana White said the promotion is in close contact with the FBI after heavy favorite Isaac Dulgarian was submitted in the first round at UFC Vegas 110, hours after integrity partner IC360 flagged unusual action on underdog Yadier del Valle and first-round props. White said Dulgarian denied issues before the bout; he was dismissed Sunday night as Caesars said it would refund bets on him to win. IC360 is reviewing the fight, and the Nevada Athletic Commission plans to withhold his purse. There is no proof of a fix, White said, but it does not look good.

On deadline day, the Jets headlined with deals involving Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, but kept running back Breece Hall despite heavy trade chatter during a 1-7 start. General Manager Darren Mougey said it was not a teardown, noting the team fielded calls but values Hall, who he believes will help them compete the rest of the season. Hall is in the final year of his rookie contract, and Mougey offered no clarity on a franchise tag or re-signing in 2026, leaving March decisions to hinge on Hall’s performance.

Democrats notched surprise wins Tuesday, flipping two Georgia Public Service Commission seats with roughly 60 percent and posting blowouts in New Jersey and Virginia governors races. Zohran Mamdani won a majority in New York City’s mayoral election, and California voters approved a temporary redrawing of congressional districts to add Democrat-leaning seats. Democrats retained key Pennsylvania judgeships and county posts, broke a GOP supermajority in Mississippi’s Senate, and secured supermajorities in Virginia’s House and New Jersey’s Assembly. Local flips spanned South Carolina, Florida and New York, as affordability and displeasure with Trump and Congressional Republicans’ agenda loomed large.

Pat Shurmur’s role at Colorado has been cut back after a 53-7 loss at Utah. According to USA Today, Deion Sanders removed his play-calling duties and demoted him from offensive coordinator to quarterbacks coach; passing game coordinator Brett Bartolone then called plays in a 52-17 loss to Arizona. Sanders hinted at offensive changes during a Tuesday briefing and has since limited player media access. Colorado is 3-6 (1-5 Big 12) after last year’s 9-4, with three games left against West Virginia, Arizona State and Kansas State.

In a swaggering rollout, the Bilas Index touts its predictive record and unveils a 1 to 68 snapshot of men’s college hoops. Purdue leads behind point guard Braden Smith and newcomer Omer Mayer, followed by Houston’s hard-driving Cougars and Florida’s rugged frontcourt. UConn and Duke headline the next tier, with capsules noting coaching shifts, transfers, and standout freshmen across the field. Updates are promised as the season unfolds.

On Nov. 5, ahead of Week 10, the Jets’ calendar shrank to two dates: Dec. 21 in New Orleans, a matchup of tanks in the making, and April 23, Day 1 of the draft. On Tuesday, they didn’t just torpedo their season; they stripped away much of what passed for a core. Another lost campaign looms — a 10th straight losing year, 47-109 since 2016, and only going to get worse — as the Jets start over yet again.
