Four people were killed and 12 others wounded, four critically, in a mass shooting around midnight on Leland’s main street in Mississippi, Mayor John Lee said. Four of the injured were airlifted to hospital. No suspects were in custody. The city, roughly 120 miles northeast of Jackson, had been busier than usual Friday as the local high school prepared a homecoming football game — an annual autumn tradition that welcomes back former students and celebrates school spirit and community.
