BBC Verify probes Jamaica storm, Rio gang clashes

BBC Verify is authenticating videos of Hurricane Melissa’s damage in Jamaica, geolocating clips from near Lucea and a Black River fire station that show bent palms, debris-strewn roads and roofs ripped away, after Prime Minister Andrew Holness warned of “devastating impacts.” The team is also examining Rio de Janeiro footage after at least 64 people were reportedly killed in a police raid on the Comando Vermelho, with officials alleging drone attacks; one drone clip could not be precisely located.
