ICE raid at wrong home amid protests

Widely shared video shows federal immigration agents forcing their way into Gloria Magaña’s Portland home on Oct. 15, searching for “Israel” and, without presenting a warrant, according to Magaña, breaking into a room as a three-month-old cried. Officials later acknowledged they were seeking someone else with a criminal history, yet detained Magaña’s son and partner for being in the U.S. illegally; records show no criminal charges. As “No Kings” protesters rallied, agents used tear gas outside a local ICE facility. An ICE leader defended the tactics, and an appeals court allowed the Trump administration to deploy National Guard protection.
