Communities across the Philadelphia area marked Memorial Day with parades and tributes, despite the weather. A longtime tradition took place in Ardmore, while Doylestown’s parade began at Central Bucks High School West and traveled through town to East Court Street, drawing hundreds along the route. In Margate, New Jersey, the wet, heavy sand made for sturdy sandcastles and quick games of volleyball. Others visited local bars and restaurants. A few beachgoers ventured into rough surf Sunday before beach patrol cleared the water as a safety precaution.
