LOS ANGELES. Eric Haase homered twice and the San Francisco Giants beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 on Tuesday, a night that produced several rare milestones. Haase’s two long balls, both off Yoshinobu Yamamoto, made him the first Giants catcher to hit two homers in a game at Dodger Stadium and the first Giants No. 9 hitter with a two-homer game since Grant McCray near the end of the 2024 season. The homers were Haase’s first as a Giant; he has 50 career home runs and hadn’t had a multi-homer game since July 21, 2024. The Giants scored a season-high five runs off Yamamoto, including a two-homer sequence in the fifth when Harrison Bader also went deep. LOS ANGELES. A big seventh inning featured a pinch-hit squeeze by Drew Gilbert and a double into the gap by Jung Hoo Lee. President of baseball operations Buster Posey said the Patrick Bailey trade was aimed at clearing the path for Daniel Susac and Jesús Rodríguez; Susac is finishing a rehab assignment and the club may still carry three catchers. Starter Adrian Houser allowed two earned over 5 2/3 innings and has yielded three earned over 11 2/3 frames in two May starts. Reliever Matt Gage struck out Max Muncy with the tying run on second in a high-leverage spot, his fourth appearance in five days; he leads the team with 21 outings and is tied atop the NL in appearances.
