United States. Regional markets reported notable pump-price increases this week as local surveys from GasBuddy and AAA showed gasoline averages rising across multiple Midwestern cities. On Monday and over the prior week, Toledo, Columbus, Metro Detroit, Michigan statewide and Peoria all recorded week-over-week increases ranging from roughly 4.6 to 26.3 cents per gallon. This week those changes pushed national averages to about $4.04 per gallon, while diesel edged lower by roughly 9 cents; analysts including Patrick De Haan warned that renewed geopolitical tensions involving the Middle East are likely to sustain upward pressure on crude and retail gasoline prices in the near term.
