CHICAGO. A shooting at Endeavor Health's Swedish Hospital on the North Side on Saturday around 11 a.m. wounded two police officers, one of whom was reported to be in critical condition, Ald. Andre Vasquez's office said. The alderman's office described the incident as an active investigation and urged people in the area to avoid the vicinity while authorities responded. Endeavor Health, which operates the hospital, said the hospital campus was closed because of the shooting but added it was 'not aware of any active threat within the hospital' and that patients and staff were safe. At about 12:40 p.m., Vasquez's office said a suspect was in custody. Chicago police did not immediately respond to a request for information.
