International Views of China Turn Slightly More Positive

A Pew Research Center survey of over 30,000 adults across 25 countries reveals improved global views of China and President Xi Jinping since 2024, though opinions remain largely negative. Favorable views of China increased in 15 countries, a trend largely absent since 2020. While confidence in Xi is rising, a median of only 25% express confidence. A median of 41% see China as the leading global economy, surpassing the U.S. for the first time since 2023. However, most prioritize strong economic ties with the U.S., despite growing ties with China in several nations.
