Netflix has ordered a live‑action Stranger Things spinoff, Other Worlds: A Stranger Things Adventure, for 2028.

The series, co‑created by Kate Trefry and The Duffer Brothers and directed by Joe Wright, is a prequel set in the 1950s, before Stranger Things and before the stage play Stranger Things: The First Shadow.

It will premiere in 2028.

A teaser shows the setting on April 19, 1955, in Marion, Nevada, featuring a deserted bike by a restricted area at night and an ominous sky disturbance resembling a wormhole.

The Duffer Brothers said they had the idea since Season 4 of the mothership series came out in summer 2022.
