Packers running back Josh Jacobs pleads no contest to misdemeanor battery charge

PUBLISHED Sep 10, 2026, 1:35 PM ET

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs pleaded no contest Thursday to a misdemeanor battery charge stemming from a May altercation involving his girlfriend at his home. Under the terms of the agreement with prosecutors, Jacobs was fined one thousand dollars, while a concurrent criminal damage to property charge will be suspended for twelve months and dismissed upon successful completion of the agreement. The twenty-eight-year-old player was arrested on May twenty-sixth after Hobart-Lawrence police responded to a domestic disturbance call where officers noted visible injuries. Following formal charges in late August, the National Football League placed Jacobs on the commissioner exempt list, rendering him ineligible to practice or play while continuing to receive his salary. The league will now review the legal resolution to determine potential violations of its personal conduct policy before clearing the running back to return. Jacobs finished the 2025 season rushing for 929 yards and 13 touchdowns for Green Bay.
