Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward has acquired a minority ownership stake in the Major League Baseball franchise Cleveland Guardians, according to an official team announcement. The 29-year-old Macedonia native, entering his ninth NFL season with the Browns, follows Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as the second active NFL player with local ties to join the ownership group this year. Ward recently signed a two-year contract extension through the 2029 season valued at $62.2 million, with $39.8 million guaranteed. Franchise leadership emphasized Ward's extensive community impact, highlighting his philanthropic foundation dedicated to fighting heart disease. The Guardians plan to formally honor Ward at Progressive Field during a game against the Chicago White Sox.
