In break with current CDC recommendations, leading pediatrics group recommends Covid-19 shots for young children

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) issued updated vaccine recommendations, diverging from the CDC's. The AAP urges Covid-19 vaccination for children 6 months to 23 months old, with exceptions for allergies. A single dose is recommended for high-risk 2-18-year-olds. However, vaccine access may be limited this fall due to potential FDA restrictions on future Covid-19 shots for younger children. The AAP also updated recommendations for RSV and flu vaccines.
