Google’s Pixel Watch 3 45mm Wi-Fi hit a new low at $199.99 at Amazon, Walmart, and Target—$100 off and $150 under the Pixel Watch 4—with Wear OS 6, Gemini AI, and perks like Google TV remote control, offline Maps routes, and auto-transcribed voice notes on Pixel phones. Fitness tracking spans activity, sleep, SpO2, heart rate, and on-wrist EKG. At least nine people, including eight women and a child, died and dozens were injured in a crowd surge at the Swamy Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district during Ekadashi, officials said. A queue-control iron grille broke, triggering the rush. At least 16 are hospitalized and 20 others are under observation. The private temple, capacity 3,000, drew about 25,000. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Andhra Pradesh’s highest elected official N Chandrababu Naidu offered condolences; Naidu ordered an inquiry and promised strict action.

A federal judge in Tampa issued an arrest warrant for former Green Beret Jordan Goudreau after he skipped a bond hearing tied to his 2020 Venezuela invasion case. Filmmaker Jen Gatien, who pledged her $2 million apartment to secure his release, testified he threatened her and texted that he would not return to prison. The ankle monitor assigned to him remained in the Tampa area. Prosecutors also cited possible firearms violations involving associates, as Goudreau faces a February trial on charges of failing to obtain an export license to ship rifles.

North Carolina finally found relief under Bill Belichick, beating Syracuse 27-10 on the road for the coach’s first ACC and Power Four win, snapping a four-game skid and moving to 3-5. The Tar Heels trailed 10-3 before scoring the final 24 points, as Gio Lopez went 15-of-19 for 216 yards and two touchdowns. Syracuse, now on a five-game slide, started walk-on freshman and lacrosse player Joe Filardi, who finished 4-of-18 for 39 yards. After weeks of controversy and close losses, Belichick praised a resilient effort and eyed Stanford next.

King Charles III has ordered the former Prince Andrew into exile at Sandringham, with his titles and honors being stripped and a notice served to surrender his 75-year Royal Lodge lease. The move, urged “as soon as practical” but may be protracted, follows weeks of intensifying anger over Andrew’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein after Virginia Giuffre’s memoir; Andrew denies her claims. Sandringham options include York Cottage and Gardens House, though none confirmed. Downing Street backs the King’s decision. Charles will privately fund Andrew’s relocation, while Sarah Ferguson will leave Royal Lodge and arrange her own housing.

With Disney’s channels dark on YouTube TV after a failed renewal, ESPN will stream its popular College GameDay on X via Pat McAfee’s feed and the ESPN mobile app, letting fans watch without a traditional subscription. The move follows a record ninth-week audience: 2.5 million viewers from 9 a.m. to noon and 3.2 million in the final hour. The dispute centers on price, as Google resists Disney’s requested rate hikes and pushes new tiers. YouTube TV says a prolonged outage would trigger a one-time $20 credit.

The Trump administration has recast U.S. policy in Latin America as a stark, with-us-or-against-us campaign, mixing threats and favors. It designated cartels as terrorists and carried out 14 deadly boat strikes at sea, raised the prospect of military action in Venezuela and drone strikes in Mexico, and threatened tariffs from Brazil to Mexico. Critics warn of extrajudicial killings and eroded norms. A clash with Colombia’s Gustavo Petro brought sanctions, even as allies like Argentina’s Javier Milei and El Salvador’s Nayib Bukele receive cash and praise. Across the region, leaders brace for abrupt shifts.

Miami’s latest mayoral contest reads like a family saga. On Tuesday, three candidates hail from political dynasties: Joe Carollo shares the ballot with his brother, City Commission hopeful Frank Carollo, while Xavier Suarez is the father of current Mayor Francis X. Suarez. Joe Carollo, 70, and Xavier Suarez, 76, once faced off in 1997, a race overturned by a judge for widespread voter fraud, making Carollo mayor; Suarez was not accused of wrongdoing. Thirteen contenders seek the part-time post with veto and hiring powers, and a Dec. 9 runoff looms if no one tops 50 percent.

Nine months into his second term, President Donald Trump is pursuing a Reagan-tinged “peace through strength” agenda marked by tariffs, military moves and nuclear testing hints. During an Asia trip, he canceled Canada trade talks, added a 10% tariff, the Navy struck suspected Pacific drug boats, and the USS Ford shifted toward Venezuela amid a major Latin America buildup. He teased possible nuclear testing and touted June strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Officials argue unpredictability boosts leverage, but a retired ambassador faults the lack of process, and an analyst warns against open-ended conflicts.

As the shutdown entered a second month, Washington’s stalemate squeezed basic needs nationwide. Federal judges blocked the Trump administration’s plan to freeze SNAP payments, but loading delays still threaten grocery budgets for millions. With Congress absent—the House idle for weeks and the Senate closed for the weekend—air travel slowdowns and missed paychecks mounted. The Affordable Care Act enrollment period opened amid warnings of sharp premium hikes as enhanced tax credits are set to lapse; KFF estimates increases of about 114% or more than $1,000 a year. Both parties traded blame while offering no clear path forward.
