Texas returned to the AP top 10 at No. 10 as the top five stayed put, with Ohio State No. 1 for an 11th week and Indiana at No. 2. Texas A&M is No. 3, followed by Alabama and Georgia. The ACC placed five teams in the rankings for the first time this season, and the Group of Five reappeared with No. 24 James Madison and No. 25 South Florida. Nineteen spots changed hands. Ahead: No. 10 Texas at No. 5 Georgia, No. 9 Notre Dame at No. 23 Pittsburgh, and No. 11 Oklahoma at No. 4 Alabama.

Another late collapse has the Giants reeling and coach Brian Daboll under sharper scrutiny. Reports last week claimed co-owner John Mara was poised to fire Daboll after the Week 7 debacle in Denver but was talked out of it, though others disputed that. Asked Friday, Daboll said he heard about the chatter from senior V.P. of communications Pat Hanlon and is focused on what he can control. Against the Bears, New York led by 10 with four minutes left after quarterback Jaxson Dart exited with a concussion—and then they blew it. Whether this costs Daboll his job is unclear.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore on Sunday defended his newly formed commission to explore mid-decade redistricting, arguing the state shouldn’t play by “different rules” as Republicans and Democrats elsewhere pursue new maps. Moore said the effort could address Maryland’s lone GOP-held House seat and rebuffed Donald Trump’s pressure. The move follows Trump-backed pushes in GOP states and California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Prop 50, which passed with more than 60%. But Senate President Bill Ferguson opposes the plan, warning of high legal risk and saying Democrats don’t need to “rig the system.”

Judge Mark L. Wolf warned of an "existential threat to democracy" in a first-person Atlantic essay after stepping down from the Massachusetts bench to speak openly against President Trump. Wolf, 78, accused Trump of wielding the law to punish adversaries and protect allies, and said he hopes to voice concerns for judges constrained by ethics rules. He echoed complaints about Supreme Court shadow docket reversals and likened Trump's conduct to Nixon's. The White House offered no immediate comment as Trump-aligned figures attacked Wolf's move and urged like-minded judges to resign.

After Virginia and Louisville fell to unranked opponents, Georgia Tech becomes the projected ACC automatic qualifier at No. 11 in a reshuffled College Football Playoff field. BYU’s blowout loss at Texas Tech likely trims the Big 12 to one bid, pushing Texas into the final at-large spot. The top six hold: Ohio State, Indiana, Texas A&M, Alabama, Georgia and Ole Miss. Oregon, Notre Dame and Texas edge up; USF is projected as the top Group of 5 champion, while Oklahoma and BYU sit just outside.

President Trump erupted on Truth Social after Supreme Court justices, including his own appointees, questioned the legality of his sweeping tariffs, demanding, “WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?” As the Court hears arguments over his invocation of the IEEPA, Justices Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett voiced skepticism; a loss could force the government to refund $90 billion in tariff revenue. Around 7 a.m., Trump also pressed Republicans to scrap the filibuster to pass their budget and reopen the government, warning they’d be the “stupid party” if they didn’t.

Lando Norris capped a flawless weekend in São Paulo by winning the Brazilian Grand Prix and the Saturday sprint, taking a significant step toward his first Formula 1 title. He now leads teammate and title rival Oscar Piastri by 24 points after the Australian finished fifth. Andrea Kimi Antonelli was second, and Max Verstappen charged from a pit-lane start to third. Even so, Verstappen arrives at the Las Vegas GP 49 points behind Norris.

New England bled the clock to take a 14-10 halftime lead. After Tampa Bay used its final timeout, quarterback Drake Maye twice let time run near the goal line before hitting a toe-tapping Stefon Diggs for a 1-yard TD with two seconds left, finishing a 14-play, 78-yard drive. Maye is 11-of-19 for 180 yards and two scores, including a 72-yard strike to rookie Kyle Williams. Baker Mayfield opened with a 21-yard TD to Emeka Egbuka, and Chase McLaughlin added a 36-yarder. RB Terrell Jennings is questionable with a knee injury; New England receives the second-half kickoff.

West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey told Face the Nation his state is aiding residents during the shutdown, citing $13 million for food banks and National Guard support, while blaming Democrats for blocking a clean CR. He said he’s working closely with the Trump administration and noted more than 270,000 West Virginians rely on SNAP as federal aid is disrupted. Morrisey defended a rural health initiative he credits to President Trump, RFK and Dr. Oz, despite warnings from the state hospital association about major losses. He opened by acknowledging a mining accident and a missing miner.

An interview between Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on This Week spiraled into crosstalk as Bessent dodged whether ending the Senate filibuster is the way to end the shutdown. He instead attacked Stephanopoulos’s 1990s White House role and book, citing the Clinton-era shutdown to argue Democrats are to blame and urging five Democratic senators to cross the aisle. Stephanopoulos disputed the history and pressed for an answer. Bessent declined to endorse the nuclear option. The tense exchange came as Bessent remains loyal to Trump, who recently labeled Stephanopoulos a top enemy.
