Georgia Arrests Chinese Trio Over Uranium Deal

Georgia’s State Security Service said three Chinese citizens were arrested in Tbilisi while attempting to buy 2 kilograms of uranium for $400,000. Authorities allege the group intended to move the nuclear material to China via Russia, and released video of the detention. One suspect already in Georgia, who violated visa rules, reportedly brought experts to search for uranium across the country, while others coordinated from China. The trio was detained as they negotiated the deal. Officials did not disclose when the arrests occurred or the suspects’ identities.
