ATLANTA — Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis testified Wednesday before a Republican-dominated Georgia state Senate special committee investigating her prosecution of former President Donald Trump and others in the 2020 election interference case. The committee, formed in January 2024, has questioned Willis’s hiring of special prosecutor Nathan Wade amid allegations of a personal relationship that prompted judicial scrutiny and Wade’s removal. Willis resisted subpoenas for months before her attorney, Roy Barnes, argued before the Georgia Supreme Court on Dec. 9 and she agreed to appear.
