Washington will bid farewell to former Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday with full military honors at the National Cathedral, in a bipartisan gathering expected to draw more than 1,000 guests. Former presidents George W. Bush and Joe Biden will attend, along with four former vice presidents; President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance were not invited, a source said. Speakers include Bush, Cheney's daughter Liz Cheney, and several grandchildren. Cheney, 84, who left a polarizing legacy, died November 3. The service leaflet includes a John Muir quote.
