Sheinbaum rejects US strikes amid sign incident

Read, Watch or Listen

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Tuesday rejected U.S. military strikes on cartels, a day after President Donald Trump said he would do whatever we have to do to stop drugs. Her remarks followed a flap at Playa Bagdad, where men arrived by boat and posted Defense Department restricted area signs near the Rio Grande's mouth. Mexico's navy removed six signs it said were on its territory. The Pentagon later said contractors erected them and that shifting water and topography blurred the boundary; a binational commission was getting involved. Sheinbaum said cooperation is welcome, but no foreign intervention.
