I Tried Tesla's Robotaxi. There Were Some Bumps.

Business Insider tested Tesla's Robotaxi pilot program in Austin, experiencing mostly smooth rides but also encountering three instances requiring safety operator intervention. Issues included a wrong-way drive on a one-way street and app glitches. While the system showed confidence in navigating city streets, avoiding highways and inconsistent pick-up times were noted. Tesla uses only cameras and neural networks for navigation, unlike competitors. The service, using a limited number of Model Ys with safety operators present, charges a flat $6.90 per ride.
