A newly discovered Hawaiian caterpillar, dubbed the 'bone collector', raids spiderwebs for food. It cleverly camouflages itself using the body parts of insects already caught in the webs, even tailoring the camouflage for a perfect fit. The caterpillar, a larval form of the Hyposcoma moth, was discovered by entomologist Daniel Rubinoff in Oahu. This species adds to the already diverse Hyposcoma genus, with over 600 species, many still undescribed. The discovery highlights the surprising diversity and behaviors within seemingly harmless insect groups.
