Michigan Reports Fifth Measles Case, Potential Exposure

Read, Watch or Listen

Michigan health officials confirmed a fifth measles case this year, a one-year-old girl from Ingham County. The child potentially exposed others at seven locations between April 4th and 8th. Health officials are working to identify and notify those potentially exposed. Measles is highly contagious, and the MMR vaccine is recommended for prevention. Symptoms include fever, cough, rash, and others. Anyone with potential exposure should monitor themselves for 21 days and contact their healthcare provider if symptoms develop. The county health department is offering vaccinations.
