The Supreme Court temporarily lifted sanctions against Maine Rep. Laurel Libby, who was censured for posting a transgender student's photo online. The Court's brief order, with only two justices dissenting, didn't explain the reasoning. Justice Jackson criticized the use of the shadow docket. The Trump administration approved Nebraska's request to ban sugary drink purchases using food stamps, marking a significant shift in nutrition policy. This first-of-its-kind waiver, effective January 2026, will affect 150,000 Nebraskans. Nebraska plans to monitor spending habits and retailer data to assess the impact. While safety advocates support the change, concerns remain about potential discrimination in enforcement and the impact on employment for non-native English speakers. The change has already been met with concern, with groups like the Sikh Coalition expressing worry about bias.

Republicans plan to focus on her crime record as a key attack point. Bottoms, a former Biden advisor, highlights her experience and willingness to fight for Georgians, contrasting herself with Trump-aligned Republicans.

His nomination remains contentious, with Democrats citing potential conflicts of interest and Republicans expressing support.
