Global institutional asset management firms including Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Franklin Templeton, and Fidelity International are preparing to participate as anchor investors in the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) initial public offering. The proposed offering is structured entirely as an Offer for Sale consisting of equity shares from existing shareholders, with major financial institutions like State Bank of India participating as selling shareholders. The exchange submitted its Draft Red Herring Prospectus to the Securities and Exchange Board of India following regulatory progress on legacy settlement applications. Market expectations estimate the exchange's valuation between ₹4.42 lakh crore and ₹5.25 lakh crore based on recent unlisted market transactions. Because the transaction is purely secondary, no new proceeds will accrue to the company. Equity shares are slated to list on the rival BSE platform in accordance with domestic market infrastructure regulations.
