Soitec locks customers into multi-year deals as AI wafer demand surges

French semiconductor materials manufacturer Soitec is securing multi-year supply agreements with financial deposits and fixed pricing structures as surging demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure accelerates. Chief Executive Laurent Remont announced that approximately eighty percent of the company's photonics capacity reservation contracts will be signed imminently, backed by customer cash deposits to ensure production commitments and inventory visibility. The company expects photonics-SOI revenue to exceed two hundred million dollars this financial year, establishing a new operational floor. Driven by hyperscalers shifting toward optical data connections over copper to mitigate power constraints, Soitec controls an estimated ninety-five percent market share for the underlying substrates. To manage capacity without constructing a new fabrication plant before twenty-nine, Soitec is repurposing existing cleanroom facilities and qualifying alternative production lines in Singapore.
