Michael Block continues hot play, grabs lead at Ally Challenge

Michael Block carded a seven-under-par 65 on Saturday to secure a two-stroke lead at the Ally Challenge in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Playing on a sponsor exemption at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club, Block opened his bogey-free second round with an eagle on the par-5 first hole and finished at 13-under 131 overall. He credited his son Ethan, serving as his caddie, with maintaining his composure during the round. Steven Alker matched Block's daily score of 65 to reach 11-under par, sitting alone in second place. Padraig Harrington stands three strokes back at 10-under after shooting a 69. Ricardo Gonzalez and Vaughn Taylor share fourth place at nine-under par. Block, known for his top-15 finish at the 2023 PGA Championship, is seeking his first career victory on the PGA Tour Champions circuit. A top-10 finish this week would qualify him for the upcoming Sanford International and the season-ending Schwab Cup Playoffs.
