Philadelphia Eagles safety Andre Sam left Friday night's preseason finale against the Cincinnati Bengals on a cart following an apparent left leg injury late in the third quarter at Lincoln Financial Field. Sam sustained the injury while tackling Bengals running back Kentrel Bullock and required assistance from trainers to exit the field without putting weight on his left leg. Prior to his departure, Sam recorded a standout performance featuring a pass breakup, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and three tackles. Head coach Nick Sirianni stated postgame that he had not yet consulted team doctors regarding the severity. Media reports subsequently observed Sam wearing a walking boot and utilizing a scooter. The injury occurs immediately ahead of the NFL roster reduction deadline, complicating roster decisions for the franchise following Sam's strong bid to secure a spot after joining the team as an undrafted rookie in 2024.
