Former television host Chris Hansen is exploring legal options against A24 regarding his portrayal in the upcoming biographical film Primetime, which stars Robert Pattinson. Speaking on SiriusXM, Hansen stated that legal counsel advised him he possesses a viable case concerning the unauthorized use of his name and associated identities. The production fictionalizes his investigative work on the online predator series To Catch a Predator. Hansen was denied entry to a private screening after refusing to sign a restrictive non-disclosure agreement designed to prevent leaks. In response, he purchased advertising space ahead of public screenings to promote his streaming network, TruBlu. Directed by Lance Oppenheim, the film is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 25, 2026. A24 has not publicly responded to the potential litigation claims or the screening dispute, leaving the status of the legal review unresolved as the premiere date approaches.
