Steven Tyler Scores Major Legal Win Ahead of Trial

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler secured a significant legal victory in a Los Angeles court ahead of his upcoming September trial. Julia Holcomb filed a civil lawsuit against him in December 2022, alleging abuse during their seventies relationship when she was sixteen. Tyler has consistently denied all allegations, maintaining that their historical romance was entirely consensual. During the preliminary hearing, the judge ruled in favor of Tyler on multiple pivotal motions, dismissing the vast majority of claims included in the original complaint. The court barred Holcomb from discussing a past abortion and prohibited introducing allegations of assault occurring after turning eighteen. However, the judge permitted evidence concerning historical drug and alcohol use while strictly prohibiting characterizations of Tyler as a sex trafficker. Both legal teams are now returning to court for final preparations ahead of the highly anticipated trial scheduled to begin on September 21 in Los Angeles Superior Court today.
