NFL Owners Vote on Record $9.6 Billion Seattle Seahawks Sale in Atlanta

NFL team owners convened in Atlanta for a special meeting to conduct a final vote on the record-setting nine billion six hundred twelve million dollar sale of the Seattle Seahawks to the Khosla family. The transaction transfers franchise control from the estate of late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen to venture capitalist Vinod Khosla, his wife Neeru Khosla, and son Neal Khosla. Neeru Khosla will serve as primary controlling owner, establishing a new financial benchmark that eclipses the Washington Commanders' previous acquisition record. League regulations require the Khosla family to divest their existing minority stake in the San Francisco 49ers before closing. Proceeds from the multi-billion-dollar sale are directed toward charitable causes designated by the Allen Trust. The franchise enters this ownership transition following a victory in Super Bowl LX. Pending final ratification during the Atlanta session, the transaction is scheduled to close in September ahead of the upcoming regular season.
