New Orleans Saints veteran running back Alvin Kamara is expected to miss at least a month due to a sprained medial collateral ligament sustained during a joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys. Medical evaluations confirmed that Kamara avoided any major structural damage or torn ligaments, lowering concerns of a season-ending absence. However, the timeline places his availability for the upcoming regular-season opener in serious jeopardy. The injury compounds an already difficult stretch for the Saints' offense, which recently lost rookie first-round wide receiver Jordyn Tyson to a multi-week hamstring injury. Entering his ninth professional season, Kamara recently restructured his contract to a $6 million base salary with performance incentives. With Kamara sidelined, newly acquired running back Travis Etienne Jr. is projected to absorb a heavier workload to start the year.
