Houston Texans wide receiver Jayden Higgins will miss the 2026 season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament during Tuesday’s joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Reuters and Houston Chronicle reporting. Higgins, 23, was injured during a drill in Houston and walked off the field before evaluation. The receiver was selected 34th overall by Houston in the 2025 NFL Draft after playing at Iowa State. He caught 41 passes for 525 yards and six touchdowns in 17 games as a rookie, then added nine receptions for 98 yards in two playoff games. Higgins had been projected as Houston’s No. 2 receiver behind Nico Collins and was drawing training-camp reviews. His absence increases opportunities for Tank Dell, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson, Justin Watson and rookie Lewis Bond. Houston could also consider additions, but no corresponding move has been announced. The Texans open regular season Sept. 13 against Buffalo.
