Aether Catalyst Solutions appointed Benjamin Catalano to its board on Aug. 17, adding a director with three decades of public-company governance experience, according to a Newsfile release. The Burnaby, British Columbia-based company said Catalano has also worked as a realtor in Greater Vancouver for more than 25 years. The appointment follows two recent board changes: Jason Moreau resigned July 22, and Neil Branda resigned Aug. 10 after 12 years, when Martin Woodward joined the board. Aether develops lower-cost catalyst technology for automotive emissions control and small engines, according to company disclosures. The company has said its technology is intended to reduce reliance on costly precious-metal catalysts while meeting emissions standards. The appointment itself does not announce new financing, customers, regulatory approvals, commercial contracts or technology-performance results. Its immediate significance is therefore governance-related. Investors and readers should distinguish the confirmed board appointment from assumptions about future commercialization, partnerships or financial performance.
