Jordan: Iran launches missiles at US base

Iran launched multiple ballistic missiles at a US military base in Jordan on Tuesday, in the first direct Iranian strike on American forces since President Donald Trump paused planned US airstrikes against Iran last Friday. US Central Command said Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces fired the missiles at about 5:45 p.m. Eastern Time and that all were successfully intercepted, with US forces remaining at a high state of readiness. The attack, described by a US official as a major strike, likely targeted Muwaffaq Salti Air Base near Azraq, and occurred as US-Iran diplomatic talks and US-Israel consultations on Iran continue.
