SALT LAKE CITY — ABC4 meteorologists forecast gusty winds and a chilly Thursday morning across northern Utah on Wednesday, with daytime highs returning to the upper 70s along the Wasatch Front and mid-30s in the Wasatch Back overnight; high pressure will build over southwestern Utah, pushing temperatures near 100°F in the afternoon. Authorities and forecasters issued a Red Flag Warning for portions of the Eastern Uinta Basin and Book Cliffs until 9pm Friday, citing low humidities and gusts up to 35 mph; winds are expected to ease toward the weekend but a Canadian trough this weekend could return breezy, dry northwest flow and elevate fire risk in parts of southern Utah.
