The United States conducted airstrikes on Iranian radar and drone facilities around Geruk and Qeshm Island over the weekend, after Iran shot down a US MQ-1 drone that Washington says was operating over international waters. US Central Command reported destroying Iranian air defenses, a ground control station and two one-way attack drones seen as threats to regional shipping. Early Monday, Kuwait said its air defenses intercepted incoming drones and missiles, after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed it had responded to an American attack. The exchanges further strained a fragile ceasefire and complicated ongoing efforts to negotiate an end to the US-Iran conflict.
