Charlotte: The Carolinas experienced soaking over Memorial Day weekend and meteorologists warn that showers will persist this week, with widespread thunderstorms expected to develop Tuesday afternoon and again when a cold front drops in on Thursday; highs will warm into the 80s before a much cooler air mass arrives Friday and Saturday.
