NASHVILLE, Tenn. — National Weather Service teams will delay on-site surveys of two possible tornadoes in Middle Tennessee until Wednesday because a second round of severe storms is expected to move through the region Tuesday evening and night. The NWS said crews will wait until the additional rain, wind and tornado threat passes before beginning damage assessments. Once the storms clear, the NWS teams for Robertson and Davidson counties will survey damage from a tornado that appeared on radar near Ivy Point in Goodlettsville; local video showed downed trees and lightning. Crews will document debris patterns to confirm a tornado and to determine its strength, path and width. A separate NWS team will inspect damage in northern Lawrence County, which was under a tornado warning around 2 a.m. but lacked radar or visual confirmation of a touchdown, to determine whether reported damage resulted from straight-line winds or a tornado.
