Salt Lake City, Jeffrey Holland, president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died early Saturday at age 85 from complications associated with kidney disease, church officials said. Holland had served as an apostle since 1994 and as BYU president in the 1980s. He had been hospitalized over the Christmas holiday and experienced serious illness in 2023.
