Judge frees Brazilian woman amid deportation fight

An immigration judge ordered the release of Bruna Ferreira, a 33-year-old Brazilian woman with family ties to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, as she contests deportation. Ferreira was arrested by ICE in Revere, Massachusetts, on Nov. 12 while driving to pick up her 11-year-old son, then transferred to a Louisiana facility. She will be freed on $1,500 bond, her attorney said, noting the government did not contest that she isn’t a danger or flight risk. DHS labeled her a 'criminal illegal alien' and said she was arrested for battery, a claim her lawyer denies.
