US planning secret Mexico mission targeting cartels | JQJO

The Trump administration is planning a secretive mission to send U.S. troops and intelligence officers into Mexico to target drug cartels, officials said. Early training has begun, but deployment isn’t imminent as scope debates continue. JSOC troops under Title 50 with CIA help would rely on drone strikes, some requiring operators on the ground. The move would break with past practice and remain secret. The U.S. seeks coordination with Mexico but may act without it; President Claudia Sheinbaum rejects intervention. Discussions are ongoing and no final decision has been made.
