John Oliver criticizes Trump over Gatsby party | JQJO

John Oliver blasted Donald Trump for hosting a Gatsby-themed Halloween party at Mar-a-Lago as more than 40 million Americans lost SNAP benefits, despite two federal judges ordering funding to continue and a Monday deadline for action. On the tarmac in Palm Beach, the 79-year-old Trump blamed the party not in charge, while CNN aired footage and called The Great Gatsby a book about rich people partying. Oliver mocked that framing, noted the event theme A Little Party Never Killed Nobody, and decried Grand Old Party indifference, as Trump also touted gold and marble Lincoln Bedroom bathroom renovations.
