Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces seized el-Fasher in North Darfur and, according to the U.N., witnesses and aid groups, carried out mass killings, including at the Saudi Maternity Hospital, where the WHO said 460 patients and companions were reportedly slain. Survivors described house-to-house attacks, detentions, sexual violence, and bodies in the streets as some 35,000 fled. RSF leader Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo acknowledged abuses and said an investigation was opened. A Yale Humanitarian Research Lab report, using satellite imagery, corroborated alleged executions and attacks on health care. Outrage grew as governments condemned the violence amid a communications blackout and unclear toll.
