Trump Predicts 'Fantastic' Deal as Tariff Looms | JQJO

President Donald Trump, hosting Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the White House, predicted a “fantastic” trade deal with China and said Beijing now shows the U.S. “great respect” after his tariff threats. He vowed to add a 100% tariff on Nov. 1 if no agreement emerges with President Xi Jinping at the upcoming APEC summit, even as he called such a levy “not sustainable.” Beijing pushed back on the tariff rhetoric and removed its top trade negotiator, ousting Li Chenggang. Trump also downplayed fears over Taiwan, citing U.S. military superiority.
