Denmark weighs countermeasures after airport drone disruptions | JQJO

Denmark is grappling with a surge of drone sightings near airports and military bases, with recent incidents at Aalborg and Billund halting scheduled flights. Similar reports have emerged around Copenhagen Airport. A weeklong ban on civilian drone flights precedes an EU summit on October 1. Officials say the flights aim to sow fear; some allege links to Russian hybrid operations, which the Kremlin denies. Policymakers are weighing kinetic takedowns and jamming, but legal hurdles, targeting difficulty and safety risks complicate action. New laser and precision-jamming systems are in development, so disruption may persist for now.
