Texas Guard Deployed; Illinois Governor Vows Resistance | JQJO

Texas National Guard members have been deployed to an Army Reserve Training Center near Chicago, sparking controversy. Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed authorizing the deployment, stating it's for the safety of federal officials. However, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker condemned the move as an "authoritarian march" and a "power grab," vowing to resist. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson echoed these sentiments, accusing the Trump administration of "declaring war" on the city and intentionally "fomenting chaos."
