Pearson Challenges Incumbent Cohen in TN Primary | JQJO

Progressive activist Justin Pearson is launching a primary challenge against veteran Democratic Rep. Steve Cohen for Tennessee's 9th Congressional District. Pearson, a "Tennessee Three" member, highlights poverty and calls for "urgent solutions." His campaign is part of a national trend of younger progressives challenging incumbents. Cohen, 76, has represented the district since 2007 and remains popular. Pearson's platform includes labor rights, affordable housing, and Medicare for All. He has endorsements from Justice Democrats and Leaders We Deserve.
