Mayor-elect Iris Stalzer of Herdecke is out of danger after being found with stab wounds. She identified her adopted daughter as the attacker. Police found signs of a struggle and knives at the scene. Prosecutors state that due to the involvement of minors and the daughter making the emergency call, charges may be limited to aggravated assault, with the children placed under youth services. Stalzer was recently elected to the mayoral office.
