Grijalva Swearing-In Delayed Amid Political Dispute | JQJO

Democrats accuse House Speaker Mike Johnson of delaying the swearing-in of newly elected Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva. They allege the delay is politically motivated to prevent a vote on releasing Justice Department files related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, a measure Grijalva would support. Republicans state it's standard practice to swear in members when the House resumes session. Grijalva, who won a special election for Arizona's 7th Congressional District, expressed confusion over the differing treatment compared to other special election winners.
